this is how I get dinner done

and Jack loves it!

hanging out

One of the many perks about being on maternity leave and Luke starting preschool were getting to see my super sweet sis-in-law and my adorable nieces (G & L are in preschool together- so cute!!). We'd usually hang out at least once a week, ending up randomly at each others houses after school for lunch and playing. Besides the usually reasons, I think this is one of the things I will miss most. Hanging out with M and the girls is relaxing b/c the kids love to play together and Jack LOVE LOVES his Auntie M.

If you would have told me 10 years ago that my brother and I would both be married with kids the same age- I would have laughed hysterically at you. It just wasn't in the cards. Or so we thought. Little did I know that we would be here! I am blessed to have an amazing brother- but I wasn't counting on ever getting a super-awesome thoughtful sweet sister. Hear that M?! I LOVE YOU!

Today is one of my last fridays off and I got to spend the afternoon hanging out with M and the girls (I have next friday off- but I have some work stuff to do, so it's not the same). I will totally miss them!! Here is a few cute shots I got...  Gotta love the iPhone- I don't know what I'd do without it!

11 weeks and back to work

I have offically been back to work for two days. It's actually been kinda fun. Almost.  I am lucky that they're letting me come back to work just 3 days a week for the first two weeks. It's been nice to ease back into it. Although my first two days I've had mom here- so tomorrow will be the first BIG TEST. I have to get all 3 of us out the door no later than 730am to make it to daycare and then me to work. WITH Luke's swim stuff as he has swimming right after work (this is his last thursday, he only has one more class- thank goodness!). I am a little nervous about it...

Let's see- what's been going on the past week with the littles? Jack is getting more animated every day. He really is a happy baby and his smiles and coos will melt your heart. Luke has been enjoying school and today they went to the pumpkin patch. His first field trip!! I wish I had pictures- but I was at work. I do however, have a pic of his pumpkin that we painted. He wanted a scary face... hahaha gotta love that kid!

and weighing in in this corner...

Jack had his 2 month checkup this afternoon (big shout-out of THANKS to Maris, my amazing sis-in-law, for watching Luke all afternoon for me!). The poor little peanut had 3 shots today and one oral thingy. He also got weighed and measured! Jumbo Jack is living up to his name. He's 13 lbs, 4.5 oz. and 24 inches long. He's about a pound heavier that Luke was at 2 months- but surprisingly he's the same length. So he's a growing boy! I think his head was almost 15 inches too. He's in the 90% for both his weight and height and every single bit of him is perfect. So in love...

Two Months and TOO CUTE!

Week 9

As my time here at home gets closer to being over (less than 2 weeks)- Jack is really starting to show his personality. I will miss his cute smiles all day long. It will make the evenings and middle of the night feedings more precious- I hope! Here's a few pics from the last few days...

TWO MONTHS

As I type this, my little monkey is half-asleep in his swing. I give him 5 minutes TOPS before he's hollering again for me. The little guy only wants to be held (I can almost hear my mother saying "i wonder where he gets that from?" and giggling. right mom??). He also wants to be entertained. A LOT. (again insert my mother's voice from the above statement). Apparently I was a difficult baby, and I'm afraid it's been handed off to BOTH my boys. Luke requires little sleep (bedtime is a constant battle every night) and Jack requires lots of nursing and loves to yell at you if he gets bored. I am sleep deprived to no end and stressed about going back to work in two weeks. I am looking forward to working again and the adult interaction- I'm excited about that part. I'm just nervous for Jack at daycare b/c he wants to be held for naps and entertained all the time.  I know that won't be possible since she has other kids and another little guy 5 months older than Jack. So the stress of that is weighing on me. Where did I go wrong with this one? I thought the second baby was supposed to be an angel baby who loves to sleep and eat? Sigh...

I just keep thinking about what my boss Tangee told me, as she has two kids ages 5 and almost 2: that the first year with 2 kids is the hardest. It does get easier. Meltdowns are ok (from kids and parents). And to just breathe. Let's just hope I don't start to hyperventilate.
